Dogs are dying...

and this time it’s not Vick’s fault...













Ok, I understand the whole idea behind the Iditarod, and that animal rights activists don't stand a chance of closing it down; but to sacrifice your dogs for the sake of a race just does not seem right.

Wow. That's pretty sad. I never really thought about it that way before, and I guess I never really knew that many of those dogs died out there.

I guess one upside to the story is that the Doctor COULD HAVE just started walking on his own and left all the dogs to die, but instead he was found leading them along trying to get back to the trail.

I also wonder why the PETA activists aren't up there every year throwing a fit. The article is probably right though, it's out of the public's eye and it is just too cold for them to fuss with. We all know they aren't really about protecting animals, anyways.
