Memory Makers...

OK, so here I was standing in line at the grocery store and I see a small news stand type rack with a rather large Redskins "Greatest Moments" title on it.

Now I am not usually the type to buy nostalgia or even impulse type of stuff but I almost picked this up.
After all, it would be the perfect sort of thing to have down in the entertainment/sports room and be a good conversation piece.

Provided I ever invited people over... ;-) In reality it would probably just become another coloring book for one of my kids, which is probably the real reason I don't buy stuff like this - so it does not get ruined!

The price was even somewhat reasonable (about $12 or so) and that got me into thinking that gee, branding and logos, especially those for fans and people looking for entertainment, are great marketing ploys.

And since it appears to be all previously published material, albeit in a new package (that's the hook), it probably did not cost that much to put together.

Then it occurred to me that this is from the NY times (very odd) and a company called Retrographics.

So, curiosity spun up, I went out on the web to see what I could find. It seems Retrographics is a licensed agent for the times and they produce memorabilia. They have lots of other teams, sporting events, and historical events for sale (from the Civil War, to Space Exploration, and even Woodstock).

So if you are ever looking for a gift or conversation piece here is an idea to keep in mind.

Though I, nor they, make any guarantees about which moments are memorable...

After all, they had the 2003 opener when we beat the NY Jets. Hardly an all time memorable moment in my mind...Unless if you happen to be a Patrick Ramsey fan.

Patrick Ramsey rocks! We love him so much here in Minnesota, we even named a city after him:

Then we decided a city wasn't enough, so we named a whole county after him:

Love live Patrick Ramsey!!
