Circus Show
Ok, So today was circus day for the kids and myself.
My wife has had all the kids all week (spring break) and decided she want some "me" time. Good for her!
Usually we go to see the Big Apple Circus which is a small 1 ring circus show in a tent. Very good, talented people with not a bad seat in the house.
But today we went to see
Circus show appropriately called "Over the Top"
It is performed in medium to large arenas, we saw it at George Masons Patriot Center, and the entire show is a lot of Broadway type musical productions one after another.
If you want to see the equally elaborate video promo click here...
It shows most everything we saw today over the course of 3 hours in about 60 secs.
Personally, I found the tigers lazy and over weight, many of the acrobats performing everything I had seen before and a noticeable lack of jugglers and magicians. Of course, these last two probably do not translate well in a large arena.
The things I liked were the bouncing tire acrobats - this was something new, the dogs tricks (they always perform with lots of energy and genuinely seem to enjoy themselves), the trapeze - because I have yet to see one go flawlessly without a mistake and someone landing in the net :-)
And these guys... yes there are seven of them in there!

I can't remember the last time that I went to a circus. I guess Cirque du Soliel might count as a circus, but not really.
I don't really even think they come around here much anymore...maybe I'll have to keep my eyes open.
